The Tribe of Creekside High pulled-off one of the biggest upsets in the nation this weekend. The Seminoles 10-8 defeat of East St. Louis (Illinois) moves Creekside up ten spots to No. 12 in the latest High School Football America Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football.

How good is East St. Louis?

ESL entered the game ranked No. 44 in the nation. The Flyers had nearly upset No. 4 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) in their season-opener. In Week 2, East St. Louis crushed defending Missouri Class 6 state champ Christian Brothers College by 45 points.

Creekside, playing a very challenging out-of-state schedule, has come-on strong after losing its season opener to Rome 16-6 in the Corky Kell Classic. Last week, the Tribe nearly knocked-off five-time South Carolina champ Dutch Fork.

The Tribe’s strength of schedule (in our rankings algorithm) helps it vault way in-front of Rome, a 6A school. Creekside is a 5A school.

In the national rankings, Creekside moves from No. 192 to No. 89 this week.

Speaking of smaller schools doing well, defending 3A state champ Cedar Grove breaks into the statewide Top 10 after crushing defending 7A champ Collins Hill 40-6. The Saints move-up two spots to No. 9 in the latest Top 25, created with our proprietary algorithm. This week, CG travels to No. 5 Mill Creek.

Colquitt County also moves two spots this week to No. 6. The Packers knocked-off previously unbeaten Lee County 48-27. Lee County falls from No. 6 to No. 8.

CC will play Cedar Grove in two weeks.

Grayson won its second straight game against a South Carolina opponent. The Rams move from No. 4 to No. 3 after knocking-off Spartanburg 51-24.

Making its first-ever appearance in the statewide Top 25 is Brunswick at No. 24. This weekend, the Pirates beat Florida-power Bolles School, which entered the game ranked No. 156 in our national rankings.

No. 11 Brookwood will test itself against Nevada and national-power Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada this week.
