Damien HS player who collapsed continues to improve

The San Bernandino Sun reports that 16-year old Xavier Mendoza, a football player a Damien High School who collapsed June 1st is improving.  Mendoza collapsed during a practice and was placed in a medically induced coma at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s intensive care unit.

The newspaper reports that a family friend, Kevin Mills, had this to say about Mendoza’s condition — “His condition is improving stupendously. He’s an awesome young man and is recovering more and more each day.”

A fundraiser has been set-up to defray the cost of medical cost for the family.
