DeMatha (9-3) has added another Washington Catholic Athletic Conference football title to its trophy case.  Saturday, the Stags beat Good Counsel (10-2), ranked #19 in the latest High School Football America Top 25, 24-20 to win its 22nd overall WCAC football title.

DeMatha and Good Counsel are no strangers to WCAC gold since the schools have won every title since 2003.  DeMatha, which won six straight from 2003 to 2008, have now won two straight.

According to the Washington Post, Good Counsel got out to a 14-0 1st quarter lead, but the Stags were able to regroup in the 2nd quarter, which gave them a 17-14 halftime lead.

Both of the squads are very young, so expect to see them in the HSFA Top 25 hunt in 2015.
