Dowling Catholic wins 7th straight Iowa high school football championship

Dowling Catholic is the first Iowa high school football team to win seven straight state football championships. The Maroons captured the Class 4A title with a 21-16 win over West Des Moines Valley at the UNI-Dome.

DC, ranked No. 2 in the Iowa Top 10, trailed top-ranked Valley 16-0 before scoring 21 unanswered points to capture the victory.

Valley won the regular season matchup 29-22.
