For the first time since 1954, Durango High is a Colorado high school football champ. The Demons beat Roosevelt 21-14 for the 3A title at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at CSU-Pueblo. The difference between the 2020 version and the one in the mid-50’s is the Demons won this title outright. The 1954 title game with Lamar ended in a 7-7 tie, which led to the teams being named co-champs.
