Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy is the third Georgia high school football team to win four straight state championships. ELCA beat Athens Academy 44-17 Wednesday to capture the state’s Class A Private state championship.
Athens Academy jumped out to a 10-0 lead in a rematch of last year’s title game, but after that, it was all ELCA.
Eagle’s Landing Christian (13-1) finished with 490 yards of total offense with 256 coming in the second half. Keaton Mitchell rushed 17 times for 173 yards with two touchdowns
The only other schools to win four straight — Buford from 2007 through 2010 and West Rome from 1982 to 1985.
