East Duplin wins first-ever North Carolina high school football championship

East Duplin running back Avery Gaby powered the Rams to a 24-21 win over Reidsville for the 2A championship. Gaby carrying the ball 37 times for 184 yards and a touchdown on his way to being named the 2A Most Valuable Player.  

The title is the first-ever for East Duplin, which finishes 15-1.
