The first Spring 2021 High School Football America Illinois Top 10 is well-stocked with 2019 state champs. Of course, none of the teams will be allowed to defend those titles, since the spring season is limited to six-regular season contests.
Defending 6A champ East St. Louis opens as the top team in our statewide rankings. The Flyers, who won their 9th overall state championship in 2019, finished that year ranked No. 51 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.
Loyola Academy’s 7-3 win over state-ranked St. Rita puts the Ramblers at No. 2. They’ll be tested this week when they clash with 7A champ Mount Carmel (Chicago). After the close loss, St. Rita is ranked No. 8.
Two-time defending 8A champ Lincoln-Way East checks-in at No. 4 in the rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.
