East wins first Alaska state football title in 13 years

East High School beat West High 13-7 Saturday to capture Alaska’s Large School state high school football championship.  It was the second time in five weeks that the Thunderbirds beat their crosstown rivals.  On September 24, East beat West 16-0.

East finishes the season 9-2, while West was 7-4

East — Tanuvasa 27 pass from Logoleo (kick failed), 1:05.
