LHSAAIs Wednesday’s decision by Evangel Christian and John Curtis to play-up in Class 5A, Louisiana’s largest classification, the beginning of reuniting the public and private schools in football?

The two schools made the decision to play-up in all sports as the Louisiana High School Athletic Association moves toward finalizing its redistricting proposal for the next two school years that begins in the fall.  St. Augustine, Shaw and West St. John also agreed to play-up.

The question is whether that decision by those top football schools will get the LHSAA to reconsider changing the playoff system used during 2013 and 2014 that split select schools (private, some charter, laboratory and magnet schools) from non-selection (traditional public) schools.

Schools have until February 18th to express their feelings on the reclassification proposal.
