It’s been a long time since I last wrote a blog for High School Football America. Many things have changed since my last entry. Now, understand that when I say things have changed, I mean it in a positive manner. Things have changed in a great way! I am extremely happy to be where I am now and looking forward to an exciting new future.

But, first things first. Where am I? Well, I am down in South Texas at Port Isabel High School, a 4A-D2 school. It’s a great spot. Great athletics program, tradition, outstanding community and the beach. We have everything we need and want in life down here. So, it’s all good!

We hit the field tomorrow, which will begin my 24th season as a coach. I am just as excited for tomorrow as I was back in 1996, when I began coaching for Chris Gerhard at Nazareth High School, in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
Tomorrow also marks the beginning of my son’s senior year. Talk about growing up fast. It’s incredible that we are entering our last season together on the sidelines. He began as my ball boy back in 2011 and has been with me ever since on Friday nights. He and I have been through a lot together the last two years, which we will get into over the course of this season.
Many, many more storylines for this year, too. It’s shaping up to be a great year. Hope everyone enjoys the ride with us!
