Lone Peak’s impressive 27-7 win over preseason No. 2 Bingham moves the Knights from No. 5 to No. 3 in the first in-season statewide ranking that is created with our proprietary algorithm. Bingham falls to No. 6 this week.
Friday, LP will play No. 7 Timpview, which lost to reigning 6A champ Skyridge 26-14. The Falcons move up one spot this week to No. 2. Timpview fell a notch to No. 7.
Top-ranked Corner Canyon cruised to a 55-7 opening night win over Granger. The Chargers, ranked No. 74 in our preseason national rankings, will face Nevada-power Bishop Gorman. The Gaels are preseason ranked No. 5 in America and have won 12 of the last 13 state titles in Nevada’s largest classification.
No. 8 West will open its season on the road in Southern California. The Panthers will be taking-on Santa Margarita, ranked No. 111 in the HSFA 300 national rankings.
American Fork is up two spots to No. 5 this week. On Friday, the Cavemen will host No. 9 Orem.
