The headline Top 25 head-to-head this week will be in Denton where No. 5 Ryan plays No. 13 Guyer. It will be the ninth time that these two crosstown rivals have met on the gridiron. Ryan leads the all-time series with five wins to three for the Wildcats.

Ryan, the defending Class 5A Division I state champs, won last year’s game 23-20. The Raiders bring a 60-game regular season win streak into the contest.

No. 2 Southlake Carroll will be on the road Thursday night to face No. 18 Rockwall-Heath. Last year, the Dragons and R-H played a wild one with SC winning a 72-57 shootout.

Judson, which climbs to No. 19 in our first in-season rankings, will be on the road to play No. 12 Lake Travis. Both teams won their openers against nationally-ranked teams.

LT beat Arlington Martin 40-28, which moved the Cavaliers from No. 82 to No. 74 in the nation. Judson beat former No. 52 DeSoto, which brought the Rockets into the national rankings at No. 127. DeSoto fell to No. 130 in our national rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.

On Saturday, No. 9 Bridgeland hosts No. 22 Shadow Creek in another intra-Top 25 matchup.
