First in-season HSFA Southern California Top 25 high school football rankings

Oaks Christian soars in the first in-season High School Football America Southern California Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play F ootball. The Lions jump from No. 18 to No. 12 after a solid 55-28 over preseason No. 9 Chaminade.

OC will try to improve its ranking when it plays No. 6 Sierra Canyon. Chaminade tumbles nine spots to No. 18.

Two new teams enter the rankings this week.

Valencia enters at No. 23 after beating preseason No. 15 Bishop Amat 36-28. Amat tumbles to No. 24.

Cajon breaks into the statewide rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm, at No. 25.

As far as the week ahead, No. 2 St. John Bosco has a huge national test against four-time reigning Florida state champ St. Thomas Aquinas. Bosco is ranked No. 2 nationally in the HSFA 300. STA is ranked No. 6 in America.

Aside from the Oaks Christian/Sierra Canyon matchup, the other intra-Top25 matchup is No. 3 Corona Centennial taking-on No. 9 Santa Margarita.
