Yelm’s 8-7 win over Camas keeps the Tornados at No. 1 in the first in-season High School Football America Washington Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. Despite the loss, Camas breaks into the statewide rankings at No. 10.
No. 2 Lake Stevens will square-off with No. 4 Bellevue this week. Bellevue is coming off a loss to Oregon-power Central Catholic.
Four Preseason Top 10 teams lost during the opening weekend, but only No. 10 Puyallup is the only one to fall out of the rankings.
No. 3 Eastside Catholic lost 20-0 to California’s Orange Lutheran, which entered the game ranked No. 40 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings.
No. 6 Kennedy Catholic also lost to an out-of-state opponent. Regis Jesuit beat the Lancers 36-33.
No. 8 Gonzaga Prep and No. 9 Lincoln (Tacoma) have out-of-state opponents this week. Gonzaga plays nationally-ranked Inglewood from California. Lincoln plays Tualatin from Oregon.
