Earlier this week, the New York Jets surprised the Transit Tech High School football team of Brooklyn with a uniform donation at MetLife Stadium.

A check for $100,000 was presented by Jets players Michael Carter and Elijah Moore, supporting both Transit Tech’s new uniforms and the Jets annual Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) helmet reconditioning program.

Following a Q&A session, Carter and Moore invited the students into the Jets locker room where they surprised the team with individual lockers decorated in personalized nameplates and stuffed with branded Transit Tech clothing, a football, and more.

Before leaving, Michael Carter delivered another surprise when he invited the entire Transit Tech football team to Sunday’s Ring of Honor Game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

$75,000 of the total donation was dedicated towards the continuation of the PSAL’s helmet reconditioning program, a signal of the Jets annual support of the program. The remainder of the donation supported new uniforms for the entire Transit Tech team.

The Transit Tech football program was created just this year. It was supposed to play its first game Saturday against Alfred E. Smith Career and Tech, but the Express never got to play. The school picked-up its first victory by forfeit.

Nga Warren, head coach of Transit Tech, was the 2020 Jets High School Coach of the Year when he was at Tilden Educational Campus in Brooklyn.
