We’re closing in on 2024 with fall camps around the corner. To get you excited, we released the Preseason High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, on July 8.
Florida leads our national rankings created with our proprietary algorithm with 46 teams in the Top 300. In addition to leading the nation, the Sunshine State leads the Top 25 with six teams.
Chaminade-Madonna, which came close to a national title last year, opens at No. 3. The Lions, who finished No. 2 last year, will find-out quickly how good they are when they square-off with Southern California-power St. John Bosco, ranked No. 5 in the preseason national rankings.
While the three-time defending state champs lost a lot of talent, they’ve reloaded, thanks to plenty of quality transfers.
They have two highly-ranked wide receivers. 5-star, junior wide receiver Jabari Brady transfers from Monarch High School to replace departed 5-star pass catcher Jeremiah Smith, who is at Ohio State. Senior Koby Howard is considered a 4-star college football prospect, who played at Western High last year.
Sophomore quarterback Zac Katz transfers from True North Classical to replace Cedrick Bailey, who has moved on to North Carolina State. Last year, Katz threw for nearly 3,000 yards with 38 touchdowns.
In all, C-M will play seven nationally-ranked teams this year, including an October 11 showdown with No. 7 St. Thomas Aquinas, winners of a record five straight Florida state championships.
Speaking of STA, the Raiders can toss their hats into the national championship chat when they open against No. 2 Bishop Gorman from Nevada. The game will be part of the Broward County National Football Showcase.
St. Thomas Aquinas will play six nationally-ranked opponents during the regular season.
IMG Academy, winners of the 2020 High School Football America national championship, is ranked No. 4. The Ascenders play their usual strong nation schedule with eight nationally-ranked teams.
On September 6, IMG will play a big in-state battle against No. 14, winners of back-to-back Class 2S state championships. The Ascenders have two other Florida opponents — No. 29 Venice and No. 116 Mandarin.
Miami Central checks-in at No. 22. Plantation’s American Heritage starts at No. 24.
