The big story of Week 6 is weather instead of football. With the entire state under a state of emergency for Hurricane Ian, it may be a little bit before we see a full weekend of high school football.

At the midway point of the 2022 regular season, Miami Central remains the top team in the High School Football America Florida Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Rockets, who are ranked No. 5 in our national rankings, already own wins over No. 5 IMG Academy and No. 22 Booker T. Washington (Miami).

Inside the latest rankings, Miami Columbus continues its climb. The Explorers are up two this week to No. 7 after knocking-off Miami Northwestern 23-19. The Bulls drop from No. 7 to No. 8

Osceola (Kissimmee) moves a notch to No. 23 after knocking-off Rockledge 31-7. Rockledge falls from No. 22 to No. 25.

The weather has already affected the intra-Top 25 game between No. 5 IMG and No. 12 Jones (Orlando). The game has been cancelled.

No. 11 Lakeland and Lake Gibson decided to play Monday night. The Dreadnaughts improved to 5-0 with a 47-14 win. The victory doesn’t affect the latest rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm

Right now, the South Florida teams may be able to play, which is great for those wanting to watch No. 4 American Heritage (Plantation) play two-time defending 4A champ Cardinal Gibbons, ranked No. 6 in the state.

No. 14 Seminole (Sanford) will look to rebound from its 24-17 loss to No. 9 Venice this week when it plays No. 21 Apopka.
