IMG Academy has closed the gap on No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas in the latest High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The No. 2 Ascenders picked-up a big 34-13 win over Cocoa, which drops from No. 3 to No. 5 in the latest rankings.

Venice, which plays Cocoa in two weeks, moves from No. 4 to No. 3. Lakeland also moves up one notch to No. 4 this week.

New to the rankings this week is Southridge at No. 19 after knocking off former No. 19 Miami Palmetto, which drops two spots to No. 21

This week there are three head-to-head matchups inside the Top 25:

  • No. 8 Norland hosts No. 17 Miami Northwestern
  • No. 12 Miami Columbus travels to No. 21 Miami Palmetto.
  • No. 24 Monarch visits No. 23 Seminole (Sanford)
