Thanks to Chaminade-Madonna winning the battle of the state champs against St. Thomas Aquinas, there’s a new No. 1 in the High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
IMG Academy sits at No. 1 after C-M beats STA 29-22. The win moves the Lions from No. 6 to No. 4 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. STA falls from No. 1 to No. 5.
The week ahead is a good one, starting with No. 2 Venice squaring-off with No. 9 Clearwater Central Catholic, two teams that finished runner-up in the Sunshine State last year.
No. 7 Norland, fresh off a big 32-27 win over No. 8 American Heritage (Plantation), will square-off with No. 6 Miami Central.
St. Thomas Aquinas, looking for its 6th straight state title this year, will try to rebound against No. 20 Monarch.
No. 12 Columbus will play in No. 15 Northwestern in a huge Miami battle.
The fifth Top 25 head-to-head will be between No. 13 The First Academy and No. 23 Seminole (Sanford).
