Former NFL linebacker John Holecek steps down after 3 Illinois high school football state championships at Loyola Academy

Loyola Academy, ranked No. 74 in the latest High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, is in the market for a new head coach.

John Holecek, an 8-year NFL veteran, who led the Ramblers to seven Illinois state championship games with three state titles, has resigned after 17 seasons at the Wilmette school. Two weeks ago, Holecek led LA to the 8A state championship.

Holecek steps aside with a record of 186-36.
