Eight-year NFL veteran Earnest Graham is the new head football coach at Santa Fe High School in Alachua, Florida. The school announced the hiring of Graham, who spent his entire career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, over the weekend.
Graham told The Gainesville Sun, ““I prayed for an opportunity to be able to coach in a proud community. It’s a community that appreciates what the game of football can do for a community because it has a history of excellence, but also what it can do to a young man, being a lifeblood.”
Last season, Graham was the offensive coordinator at Gainesville High. This will be his third high school head coaching job. He’s been the HC at North Fort Myers and Evangelical Christian School in Fort Myers.
During his scholastic days, Graham was a highly-recruited running back at Mariner High School. He was the state’s Mr. Football in 1997 and a Parade Magazine All-American. During his high school career, he ran for 5,710 yards with 86 touchdowns.
In 2007, the Florida High School Athletic Association named Graham as one of its 100 Greatest Players of the First 100 Years of Florida high school football.
