Heath Miller, who won two Super Bowls with the National Football League‘s Pittsburgh Steelers, is the new head football coach at St. Anne’s-Belfield.

On Monday, the private school in Charlottesville, Virginia named the 11-year NFL veteran as the school’s acting coach for the 2024 season, replacing Joe Sandoe, who took a head coaching job in Georgia. Recently, Miller helped coach his sons in the private school’s middle school program.

Miller was taken in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Steelers. He played his entire career with the western Pennsylvania team, retiring from the NFL in 2015 as the Steelers’ all-time leader in receptions (592), receiving yards (6,569) and receiving touchdowns (45) by a tight end.

In high school, Miller played at Honaker High School. Twice he was named all-state as a quarterback. As a senior, Miller was the Associated Press Player of the Year.

Miller accepted a scholarship to play quarterback at the University of Virginia, but switched to tight end during his redshirt freshman year.
