Four loses by Top 25 teams this past weekend, four new teams entering this week’s High School Football America Top 25.

A couple of La Salle’s enter the poll after each knocked-off Top 25 teams. La Salle College High School (Pennsylvania) enters at #19 after coming-from-behind Friday to knock-off former #16 Archbishop Wood. The Explorers also own impressive wins over DeMatha and McDonough from Maryland and Malvern Prep and North Penn from Pennsylvania.

In Cincinnati, the always tough Great Catholic League South Division makes it tough to stay unbeaten. Friday, new #23 La Salle knocked-off former #7 Archbishop Moeller in a battle of unbeatens.

In northern New Jersey, Paramus Catholic is back in the national rankings after an impressive 44-7 win over Bergen Catholic Saturday.  No breathers for the #18 Paladins as they face #2 Don Bosco Prep on Saturday.

There aren’t any cupcakes in the Trinity League in Southern California. League play opens this weekend with a marquee match-up between #7 St. John Bosco and #13 Mater Dei on Friday.

All of the above mentioned are private school leagues, but in Indiana Friday, public school powers #20 Warren Central and #24 Carmel will square-off.  Both teams are 7-0 overall and sit atop the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference. If Warren Central wins Friday, they’ll claim the title. If Carmel wins, they will have a chance to capture the conference title the following week with a win against Lawrence Central.
