Franklin moved-up from 3A Division II to Division I this year, but the result was the same as 2021. The Lions beat Brock 17-14 to capture the school’s second straight Texas high school football title.

The game came down to the final drive of the game. Franklin offense put together a 16-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Curt Lowry booting a game-winning 20-yard field goal as time expired.

Franklin has now won 32 straight and 44 of their last 45 games. The Lions last loss was in the 2020 Class 3A Division II championship game to Canadian.
