Georgia High School Association denies Valdosta appeal

Sanctions against the Valdosta football program will stand. On Monday, the Georgia High School Association denied the school’s appeal of sanction leveled against the program earlier this month.

The GHSA fined the Valdosta High School football program $7,500 and banned the program from the 2021 Georgia high school playoffs for rules violations relating to recruiting and a lack of administrative control under head coach Rush Propst. The state’s governing body also placed the school on probation for the upcoming season and forced the school to forfeit seven 2020 wins in which ineligible players were used.
