Georgia State’s new stadium to host two-days of Corky Kell Classic

With the completion date for Mercedes-Benz Stadium pushed until August 26th, officials of the Corky Kell Classic have decided to play the Friday and Saturday games at Georgia State’s new football field.  Georgia State is currently converting Turner Field, the former home of Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves, into a 23,000 seat football stadium.

When the Georgia Dome opened in 1992, the Corky Kell games were the first sporting events ever played in the stadium.

5:15 pm: Lee County vs. Mary Persons
8:15 pm: Houston County vs. Jones County

Friday, Aug. 18 @ Georgia State Stadium
5:30 pm: South Forsyth vs. Roswell
8:30 pm: Buford vs. Hillgrove

Saturday, Aug. 19 @ Georgia State Stadium
9:00 am: Kell vs. Tucker
11:45 am: Archer vs. Brookwood
2:45 pm: Colquitt County vs. Norcross
5:45 pm: Mill Creek vs. McEachern
8:45 pm: North Gwinnett vs. Walton
