Georgia to eliminate Class 7A starting with 2024 high school football season

The Georgia High School Association will have a new look in 2024. The state’s governing body has voted 12-0 to eliminate Class 7A.

The change will last for at least two years.

In addition to making 6A the biggest classification in two years, the GHSA also voted to keep the two-division set-up in Class 1A through 2026.
