Big shuffle and big week ahead in the High School Football America Georgia Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football.

Let’s start with the shuffle where North Gwinnett soars 18 spots to No. 5 after beating former No. 2 Colquitt County 14-3. The Bulldogs will test that new lofty ranking against No. 4 Mill Creek this week.

Both teams are also highly-ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings. Mill Creek is ranked No. 37 in the nation. NG is No. 39.

Roswell does North Gwinnett one better with a 19 spot jump. The Hornets climb from No. 25 to No. 9 after taking-down former No. 5 Walton 42-32.

Is Roswell worthy of the new ranking? We’ll find-out this weekend when the Hornets play No. 3 Buford.

Walton, which drops nine spots to No. 14, will try to rebound this week when it plays No. 17 Norcross.

In the fourth head-to-head battle in the Top 25 this week, No. 13 Douglas County plays No. 19 Langston Hughes.

Three teams will play out-of-state opponents that are ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings.

  • Grayson, No. 9 in the state and No. 67 in America, faces No. 215 Mallard Creek (North Carolina).
  • Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, No. 10 in Georgia and No. 70 in the HSFA 300, plays No. 98 John Curtis (Louisiana).
  • Valdosta, No. 22 in the Peach State and No. 172 in the country, travels to No. 234 Jesuit (Florida).
