Lee County moves from No. 13 to No. 9 in the latest High School Football America Georgia Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Trojans move comes after their 35-23 win over former No. 6 and defending 6A state champ Thomas County Central in the opening of Region 5-AAAAA play. This week, LC hosts No. 8 Coffee, which won the 5A state title last year.
After Hurricane Helene delayed Week 1 in 7A Region 1, the showdowns begin this week. On Friday, No. 22 Lowndes travels to No. 19 Colquitt County. Then on Saturday, No. 17 Camden County visits No. 18 Valdosta.
There’s a big Top 25 head-to-head in 7A’s Region 8 Friday night. No. 3 Buford will host No. 6 Collins Hill.
The fourth head-to-head in the Top 25 this week will be in Class 4A Region 1 on Friday when No. 20 Benedictine travels to No. 24 Warner Robins.
Finally, they’ll be a big interstate matchup between No. 10 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and The First Academy of Florida. Both teams are ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings. RGN is No. 74 in the national. The Royals are ranked No. 83.
