Collins Hill and Lee County both more up one-spot in the latest High School Football America Georgia Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, after big wins Friday.
Collins moves to No. 6 after edging Mill Creek 13-12 in 6A Region 8 play. Both teams now own 3-1 region records, one game behind No. 3 Buford, which owns a 4-0 region mark.
Buford has already beaten Collins Hill. The Wolves will play No. 6 Mill Creek in the regular season finale on November 1.
Lee County is up to No. 8 this week after a convincing 48-14 win over 2023 5A champ Coffee, which drops a notch to No. 9 this week. The loss snapped Coffee’s 21 game win streak.
On September 28, Lee County snapped Thomas County Central’s 20 game win streak. TCC won the 2023 6A title.
Two weeks into the AAAAA Region 2 schedule, Lee County is tied with No. 24 Houston County with 2-0 records. Coffee and No. 11 Thomas County Central won 1-1 marks.
Top-ranked Milton solidified its spot atop the rankings with a 42-24 defeat of No. 13 Gainesville. The AAAAA Region 7 title will come down to the Eagles’ season finale on November 1 against No. 14 Roswell.
New to the rankings this week is Cartersville at No. 25.
