Good Counsel wrapped-up the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Capital Conference last weekend and the No. 1 ranking the in the High School Football America Maryland Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Falcons did it with a 24-0 shutout of Bishop McNamara.
GC now heads into the WCAC playoffs as the No. 1 seed. They play Gonzaga (Washington, DC) in the semifinals this weekend. Two weeks ago, the Falcons beat the Eagles 28-6 during their regular season matchup.
In the other WCAC Capital Conference semi, No. 2 DeMatha faces St. John’s College HS (Washington, DC). The Stags beat SJC 21-14 in overtime during the regular season.
No. 4 Archbishop Spalding opens the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A playoffs against No. 5 Loyola Blakefield. The Cavaliers beat LB in overtime two weeks ago. In the other semi, No. 6 Mount St. Joseph faces No. 7 McDonogh.
