There’s a change at the top of the first in-season High School Football America Maryland Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Good Counsel moves from Preseason No. 2 to No. 1 in the statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
GC’s move to the top comes after an impressive 40-14 win over nationally-ranked Jones High from Orlando, Florida. It was a great bounce-back win for the Falcons after losing their opener to two-time defending Ohio Division I St. Edward on national television.
Nationally, Good Counsel is currently ranked No. 25 in the HSFA 300.
Preseason No. 1 St. Frances Academy sits at No. 3 after playing their toughest schedule in the nation. The Panthers are 0-3 after loses to No. 5 Buford (Georgia), No. 9 Chaminade-Madonna (Florida) and No. 35 East St. Louis (Illinois).
In our national rankings, SFA sits at No. 36 after starting the year at No. 3.
