Greenville Christian new No. 1 in Mississippi Top 10 high school football rankings

The Greenville Christian Cinderella Story continues. Last Friday, GC knocked-off then top-ranked Oak Grove 48-41, which moves the Saints to the top of the latest High School Football America Mississippi Top 10 powered by NFL Play Football.

Oak Grove entered the game as the defending 6A state champs on a 15-game win streak.

Greenville Christian, the defending Midsouth Association of Independent Schools 3A champs, have now beaten two-time defending MAIS 6A champ Madison-Ridgeland Academy the public school 6A champ with just a 35-player roster.

Oxford drops out of the statewide rankings after losing for the second straight week. The Chargers loss to Lafayette moves Tupelo into the Top 10 at No. 10.

This week’s big game features No. 3 Madison Central taking-on No. 4 Starkville.
