It had been eight years since a Vermont high school football team went undefeated and won the state’s Division I championship…that streak ended Saturday afternoon when Hartford beat Rutland (8-3) 26-14 to win the schools second straight state title. The win also extended Hartford’s win streak to 18-game. Saturday’s game was a rematch of the 2007 state championship game that was won by the Hurricanes (10-0) in overtime. Rutland was looking for its eighth high school football championship in the last 15-years.
