Cal Lee, who led Saint Louis as its head football coach for nearly 30 years, is putting down his coaching whistle. Last month, Lee announced his retirement from the game that he’s been coaching for a half-century.

After resigning as the Crusaders head coach in 2020, Lee became his brother Ron’s defensive coordinator at the Honolulu school.

Lee’s lifetime record stands at 296-41-5, making him Hawaii’s all-time winningest high school football coach. He led Saint Louis to 18 state championships. Fourteen of those title came in a row from 1986 through 1999. He also led the school to four straight titles between 2016 and 2019.

At one point, Lee led Saint Louis to a 55-game win streak.

In 2017, Coach Lee led the Crusaders to a No. 61 finish in our national rankings. The program finished No. 32 in 2018 and No. 35 in 2019.
