Tony Henney, who has led Nordhoff and Trabuco Hills to CIF-Southern Section titles, is the new head coach at Westlake.
Steve Fryer of the Orange County Register reports that Henney was pursued by Westlake after Jim Benkert stepped-down to go to nearby Oaks Christian.
Henney, in his one season at Trabuco Hills in 2014, led the Mustangs to a 10-4 record and the CIF-SS Southwest championship, beating San Clemente in the title game after San Clemente beat them for the Sea View League title during the regular season.
Prior to moving to Trabuco Hills, Henney coached for six season at Nordhoff, leading the school to a 58-17 record with CIF titles in 2012 and 2013.
