It’s a fun time of year with some of the biggest states winding down the regular season and the playoffs underway in others.
The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship was on the line Friday night in Maryland where No. 21 DeMatha beat arch-rival Good Counsel 28-14. GC entered the game ranked No. 12 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
In Louisiana, No. 56 Edna Karr remains undefeated on the field with a convincing 38-6 win over No. 93 John Curtis. Karr official record is 6-3, but the Cougars had to forfeit their first three wins due to using an ineligible player.
Thursday
In Oklahoma, No. 235 Jenks snapped Bixby’s 58-game win streak with a 38-35 victory. The last time the Spartans lost was in 2018 to Jenks.
No. 23 Catholic (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), whose only loss was to Good Counsel, closed-out the regular season with a 24-21 win over reigning Class 5A champ Zachary 24-21. Catholic is the state’s reigning Division I champ.
