The quarterfinal round of the Class 6A playoffs will feature two match-ups in the High School Football America Arizona Top 10. No. 2 will face No. 8 Pinnacle in a rematch of their September 1 clash that Chandler won 35-28 in overtime.
The other Top 10 match-up features No. 5 Perry taking-on No. 7 Hamilton. This one is also a rematch of a great regular season game. Perry outscored Hamilton 65-63 back on October 20.
Former No. 6 Desert Ridge was upset by Westview 23-7 in the opening round of the 6A playoffs Friday. The Jaguars, who were the No. 2 seed, drops-out of the rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Moving-in is Liberty at No. 10. If Liberty beats Ironwood Ridge in the 5A quarters and No. 3 Centennial beats Chaparral, we’ll have another rematch in the semis between the Lions and Coyotes. On October 27, Liberty upset Centennial, which was ranked No. 65 in the nation at game time.
