It’s time to figure-out which team is the best in the State of Colorado. No. 1 Valor Christian squares-off with No. 2 Pomona Friday night. Many believe this is the first of two big games between the two that will decide Colorado’s 5A state title in 2017.
Pomona and VC have split the last four games with Pomona winning the regular season games in 2015 and 2016 and Valor Christian winning in the postseason match-ups. Last year, the Eagles beat Pomona 30-14 in the 5A championship, which gave VC its seventh state title in eight years. VC has has a 36-1 postseason record since 2009, winning four 5A titles, two 4A championships and one title in 3A.
Valor Christian beat Pomona 29-26 to win the 5A championship in 2015 after losing to the Panthers 28-14 during the regular season.
