First the first time since the start of the 2017 season, there’s a new No. 1 in the High School Football America Illinois Top 10.  Mount Carmel’s (Chicago) 21-18 upset of defending 7A champ in the state quarterfinals, allows defending 6A champ Prairie Ridge to move into the top spot in the rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.  The Caravan moves into the rankings at No. 6, while ESL drops to No. 7.

The semifinals will feature a couple of Top 10 head-to-head match-ups. No. 2 Lincoln-Way East plays defending 8A champ and No. 3 Maine South in the 8A semifinals.  Back on September 1, the Griffins handed the defending champs there only loss of the year with a 28-26 decision.
