We’re down to the semifinal round of the state playoffs. Everyone is hoping for a No. 1 vs. No. 2 match-up in the Class 4AA final, but first Wake Forest and Mallard Creek need to get wins this weekend.

No. 1 Wake Forest plays Garner Magnet, while No. 2 Mallard Creek takes-on No. 7 Hough. Both teams are also ranked in the High School Football America Top 100 national rankings — Wake Forest at No. 42 and Mallard Creek at No. 76.

In the 4A semis, No. 5 Scotland plays No. 6 Hoggard.
