For the second week in a row, Varina has knocked-off the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Virginia Top 10. After beating nationally-ranked Highland Springs in the 2nd round, they knocked-off top-ranked Manchester 34-16 to advance to the Class 5 state semifinals. The win avenged a season-opening 45-38 double overtime loss to Manchester.

Varina moves into the Top 10 at No. 8, while Westfield takes-over the top spot. Westfield will play No. 9 South County in the Class 6 semifinals.
