As we said last week, this week’s High School Football America/SoCal Top 25 would be shaped by four games featuring eight teams in the Top 15.

With Mater Dei and Bishop Amat beating higher ranked opponents, both move back into this week’s Top 5.  Mater Dei, which beat former #5 Serra (Gardena) 28-27, moves from #6 to #4.  Bishop Amat beat former #4 Oaks Christian 61-40 to move from #7 to #5.

The week’s big mover is Rancho Cucamonga, which climbs from #17 to #10.  In the last two weeks, the Cougars have climbed from #22 into the Top 10.  Friday night, RC faces #11 Vista Murrieta in a CIF-Southern Section West Valley Division semifinal match-up.

New to the poll this week is Chino Hills at #23 and Calabasas at #25.
