High school football heavyweights Massillon Washington (Ohio) and Valdosta (Georgia) to battle in 2023

Valdosta, the No. 1 team in all-time high school football wins, will travel to northeast Ohio in 2023 to play Massillon Washington, No. 4 on the all-time list, in August.

The game will be part of the Northeast Ohio vs. America Showcase, a four-game kickoff event that will be played at Massillon’s Paul Brown Tiger Stadium on August 18.

Valdosta will enter the game with 941 victories. Massillon Washington with 932 wins.

Both teams finished last season in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Massillon Washington (12-2) closed-out at No. 26 and Valdosta at No. 191.

The showcase will also include northeast Ohio powers, Archbishop Hoban, reigning Division IV champ Glenville and St. Edward, winner of the last two Division I titles. Their opponents will be announced at a later date.
