Hitchcock-Tulare beat Herreid/Selby Area 50-28 on Thursday afternoon at the DakotaDome in Vermillion to win the South Dakota 9B state championship. It was H-T’s third overall state football championship.
Quarterback Carter Binger was the Joe Robbie MVP award winner. He completed 12 of 15 passes for 238-yards with four touchdowns. Binger also ran for 123 yards and a touchdown.
Herreid/Selby Area running back Brenden Begeman is now the state’s all-time leading rusher. He finished the day with 189-yards rushing, giving him 6,807 career rushing yards.
