Hometown Team: Cherokee’s Josh Shaw talks start of Spring Ball

The Cherokee Warriors begin work on the 2022 season Wednesday with the first day of spring ball.

Cherokee is coming-off a 5-6 season, which ended with a 28-21 first round loss to Norcross in the 7A playoffs.

On Monday, head coach Josh Shaw talked about the importance of spring ball for his program that will have to replace 27 seniors. Below you can listen to Coach Shaw, who has been the head coach of the Warriors since 2012, discuss Spring Ball 2022.

Cherokee will be in a new region this year. The Warriors join the six-team Region 5.

North Cobb finished No. 64 in the nation last year. Walton, which advanced to the 7A state semifinals last season, finished the year ranked No. 107 in America.

Cherokee will close-out spring practice with a home spring game against River Ridge on May 20.
