From Florida, No. 56 Edgewater will continue to move-up when the new rankings are released on Sunday. Friday night, the Eagles edged No. 49 Jones (Orlando) 14-13.
In California, No. 59 Folsom picks-up a quality win (23-15) over No. 64 Pittsburg. It was the first loss of the year for the Pirates.
Alabama’s Hoover will make a move up Sunday. The No. 81 ranked Bucs beat No. 79 Hewitt-Trussville 17-7.
The shock of the Friday night was in South Carolina where unranked South Florence (5-0) ripped No. 38 South Pointe 42-7.
No. 21 North Cobb (Georgia), playing without Arkansas-bound quarterback Malachi Singleton, lost to No. 238 Northside (Warner Robins, Georgia) 20-17 in OT. Singleton is out for the rest of the regular season after breaking a bone in his football.
Another Top 100 team to taste defeat Friday night was No. 39 Zachary. The Broncos were beaten 24-20 by St. Augustine.
In New Jersey, No. 150 Iona Prep gave New York high school football fans to cheer about with a 42-35 defeat of No. 61 Don Bosco Prep in a great interstate battle.
