Howard roared to a 42-6 halftime lead against Herreid/Selby Area on the way to a South Dakota Class 9A high school football state championship. The Tigers final margin of victory was 37 points in a 55-18 victory.

John Callies was the game’s MVP with 138 yards and three touchdowns.
