HSFA Florida Top 25 heading into state semifinals

Three head-to-head Florida Top 25 matchups highlight this weekend’s state semifinals.

After breaking into the High School Football America Florida Top 25, No. 19 Mandarin faces No. 23 Monarch in the Class 4M state semis. The Mustangs bust into the statewide rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm and powered by NFL Play Football, after beating former No. 16 Sanford Seminole 28-24 last weekend. The loss dropped the Seminoles to No. 21 in the latest rankings.

The Mandarin/Monarch winner will face the winner of No. 12 Miami Columbus and Plant for the state title next week.

In 3M, No. 8 Orlando Jones will square-off with No. 11 Homestead. The Fightin’ Tigers/Broncos winner will meet the winner of the game between No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas and Gaither.

Defending 4S state champ Lakeland, ranked No. 13 in the state rankings, tries to get back to the state title game this week when it plays No. 14 Buchholz. In the other 4S semi, No. 9 Venice faces DeLand.
